Here is a Rarely Seen Trans-Mississippi Confederate
Bullet !
Known as a "Cove Creek" Minie, or "Texas Troops"
Minie, this one was recovered in one of CS General Thomas
C. Hindman's camps here in NW Arkansas. Identified by the
long nose, unevenly spaced rings, and cylindrical plug cavity,
these bullets are only rarely encountered, and then not in large
numbers by any means. This example mics about .570 in
diameter, by 1.070 length. It has a few period scars, a push
to the base, and out of round cavity walls, but still displays
Very Nice on one side.
In excellent dropped condition,
these bullets sell for $200+ , but this one is Priced
Much Nicer !
