When I got this box it was sealed in plastic, and I could not tell for
sure if it had been opened or not.  I removed the plastic, and could
see that one end of the box had been opened, and the caps removed,
though all Ten of the cartridges are still there

I resealed the box in a tight shrink wrap, and it is ready to safely
display. Could easily be unwrapped again if you wish. A

              NEW  !
Here's a rare but excellent
Eley's Needle Fire Cartridge !
This one's in great shape, the paper still very fine, and a readable

tight in the paper. The Needle Fire guns and cartridges became
standard issue for the Prussian Army, beginning in 1841, and were
used thru the American Civil War, until about 1872. The first guns
and the cartridges were invented by Nikolas von Dreyse, and the
cartridges are often called a "Von Dreyse". There were also several
pistols designed for the Needle-Guns. The bullet on this one mics
out right at .410, or .41 caliber.

Here's a Buff Color Example of the .58 Williams Cleaner Cartridge
Type III
! Nice cartridge with good paper, that though a little loose,
still contains all the powder. You can gently feel the zinc washer thru
the paper too. Nose looks a little pointed, and not sure but it may
have been re-tied. Got this from an old cartridge collector, and it
comes in coin tube he had it in, with his label. Cleaner cartridges,
buff or blue, are sometimes difficult to find, but here is one in

Nice Intact & Unfired 12mm Pinfire Cartridge - Prairie Grove, Arkansas
Here's another fully intact, Dug 12mm Pinfire Pistol Cartridge !
Like the other from the same location, it was never cleaned, but
shows a good green patina on the case, with mostly white patina
on the bullet itself. Has the still raised pin
, that shows it isn't a
put-together, but a dropped cartridge, possibly in the heat of
battle, that's never been fired. Also recovered at
Prairie Grove,
Arkansas
, where for sure the 2nd Kansas Cavalry, and the 3rd
Wisconsin Cavalry, were carrying the Lefaucheux Pistols.

Full Box 1920s .22 Cartridges - Display With Civil War .22 Revolver for $$$ Less
Full Box 1920s .22 Cartridges - Display With Civil War .22 Revolver for $$$ Less
Let me begin by saying the obvious, these are not Civil War era
cartridges. What they are though, is
an affordable box of early
.22 rimfire cartridges, to display with your Civil War Period .22
Revolver
! With an original box of Civil War Period .22 cartridges
costing in the thousands of dollars, when they can be found, most
folks will seek a more economical alternative. Here is one ! This
is a full box of ca. 1920s, Remington-UMC .22 short cartridges.
The box still has good red/green color on the top, though the back
is quite faded. It was opened at one time, but all 50 of the original
cartridges are still present in good condition. After photographing
it, I sealed it in cellophane to prevent accidental spill, but could
easily be removed if desired. It measures just 2.375 inches long,
by 1.25 inches wide, and .875 inches tall.
A nice displaying old
box of .22 short, that would display well with your Smith &
Wesson No. 1, or .22 Pocket Manhattan, or other Civil War
Period .22
!
